Abstracting Reality- 6 week course

Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced students are welcomed. This course will be taught in either oils OR acrylic and it will build on the previous courses taught, ‘Intro to Oils’ or ‘Figure Painting’ , but it is opened to new students as well. We will be exploring the role of abstraction in all styles of painting through practicing methods of interrupting the subject matter, painting from imagination, combining multiple image references and abstract painting techniques. This is a great course for beginners interested in both abstract and realism work or Intermediate to Advanced painters looking to spice up their compositions and broaden their perspective on realism work. All courses are designed to create community and encourage students to push themselves and grow as artists in a safe and non-competitive environment.
Students will have a basic supplies list sent to them via email once registered. Easels and palette tables will be provided. If you are a returning student, you can use the same supplies from the last course.
